It is with regret that GC Organisational Improvement has now closed. We have made great strides over the past few years to bring Wellbeing and Mental Health to the forefront of business needs and requirements.
Horton Grange Primary School is a three form entry school based in Bradford, with around 700 pupils including an 80 place nursery. They began their Investors in People journey in 2011, following a challenging period which saw the school in Special Measures for a time.
After coming through this challenging period with the support of their people and going on to achieve Investors in People Gold, the school is sharing their story in a new case study released today on the national Investors in People website.
“We felt that an objective view of our school was important, helping us to assess what we do and where we could improve, as well as highlighting good practice” explains Duncan Jacques, Executive Head.
“In a school, our staff are the most valuable and expensive resource and so their retention, morale and training are crucial. All these areas are explored extremely well within the Investors in People Framework and so we looked to IIP to help us focus on our people and in turn offer the best to our pupils.”
The opportunity to develop a relationship with their IIP Specialist and gain objective feedback on their practices and potential has since been a key benefit of Investors in People for Horton Grange.
Feedback has also supported the organisation to develop and put systems in place that regularly review policies and practices, all helping to make the organisation even more effective.
“You should never miss an opportunity to have an informed, outside pair of eyes look at your organisation as even small improvements can lead to enormous benefits” adds Carol Stephenson, Head of School.
