It is with regret that GC Organisational Improvement has now closed. We have made great strides over the past few years to bring Wellbeing and Mental Health to the forefront of business needs and requirements.
MacIntyre share how they ‘Inspire Innovation’ and ‘Get the Best out of their People’ at a recent Inside Investors in People event held at the Gateway Warrington.
MacIntyre is a national charity that started life in 1966 as a result of one man’s vision, Kenneth Newton Wright, to provide life-long care and education for people with learning disabilities. Having rapidly expanded, the organisation now has over 150 services and 2100 staff supporting over 1000 people with learning disabilities nationwide.
MacIntyre has been accredited with Investors in People since 1999, having recently achieved the Gold accreditation and gained IIP Champion Status in 2014.
Claire Withers, Workforce Project Manager and Christopher Duff, Workforce Director, provided delegates with an engaging and practical insight into their journey, highlighting key challenges and the outcomes focussed approach they have used to overcome these.
Focusing on key areas to build capacity and capability within the organisation they demonstrated how they had used the IIP framework to support the achievement of their many successes to date.
Christopher described how the charity was started with an innovative idea, and continues to embrace innovation, priding itself on continuous learning and improvement for all staff and everyone they support. A short film used as part of the event, (taken from the MacIntyre’s induction film), emphasised just how important people are within MacIntyre and the true passion that people have within the business to be the best they can be, for those who they support.
Andrea Parr and Ann Fox provided a fantastic insight into the role they play within MacIntyre to drive change and innovation through the Investors in People Internal Review programme. They described how they have developed within the role and how they are helping to inspire others to work together to drive continuous improvement. This led the way to a number of questions from the audience and it was great to see the idea sharing begin and continue at the networking session that followed!
We are sure that everyone who attended would agree it was a fantastic opportunity to learn from a gold organisation like MacIntyre that puts people at the heart of their business. Hopefully everyone who met there will keep in touch to share challenges and good practice and inspire the innovation to continue!
