It is with regret that GC Organisational Improvement has now closed. We have made great strides over the past few years to bring Wellbeing and Mental Health to the forefront of business needs and requirements.
Gateshead Heath NHS Foundation Trust has achieved the Investors in People Health and Wellbeing Good Practice Award against a newly revised framework, demonstrating their commitment to realising the potential of their people for high performance.
Developed in partnership with leading experts, high performing organisations and employees, the newly updated Award reflects the very latest workplace trends with physical wellbeing, psychological wellbeing and social wellbeing at its heart.
Offering focus and stretch beyond the Investors in People Standard, the Health and Wellbeing Good Practice Award builds on an underpinning performance model to provide a comprehensive picture of how embedded wellbeing practices are within any organisation.
The NHS in Gateshead were one of the very first organisations across a range of sectors and countries to be assessed against the new Health and Wellbeing Good Practice Award as part of a national pilot, which also ran alongside piloting for the new sixth generation Investors in People Standard. Gateshead is also the first NHS Trust to achieve the Award.
Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said:
“Meeting the updated Health and Wellbeing Good Practice Award is something that Gateshead should be extremely proud of, it is the sign of a great employer, an outperforming place to work and a clear commitment to success. I would like to thank every person at QE Gateshead for their involvement in the pilot and their collaboration with Investors in People at this important time. Most of all I would like to congratulate them on their fantastic achievement.”
Commenting on the award, Chief Executive Ian Renwick, said:
“Our whole vision for healthcare in Gateshead is built around putting the patient at the centre of everything we do as an organisation. That’s why it’s so important we have engaged staff who feel that we’re doing everything we can to support them in providing outstanding care to local people.
“We’re really proud to be the first NHS trust to be awarded the Health and Wellbeing Good Practice Award and it reflects the hard work of everyone across the Trust to deliver first class care. Health and wellbeing is something that we actively promote to the public so it’s vital that we make that same promise to our own employees, so they are in the best possible position to support all our patients.”
The revised Investors in People Health and Wellbeing Good Practice Award will be available for organisations in 2016.
Congratulations to all the team at Gateshead Heath NHS Foundation Trust!
